Spencil Art Prize 2026 calls for young artists across Australia and New Zealand
EntSun News/11082491
National kids' art competition invites children 13 and under to enter and stand to win a share in over $1,900 worth of prizes, plus have their artwork design featured on a selection of Spencil school and stationery products.
BRISBANE, Australia - EntSun -- The Spencil Art Prize is now open, inviting young artists across Australia and New Zealand to showcase their creativity and see their artwork displayed in an online gallery viewed by families everywhere. This annual competition is all about celebrating kids' individuality and artistic expression, giving children a chance to slow down, get creative and feel proud of what they make.
Entries are open from 6 January to 4 March 2026, with two age categories: 8 years and under, and 9 to 13 years. Children can submit any original 'flat' artwork – from drawings and paintings to collage, photography or digital art – by uploading a high‑quality image via the Spencil website. Entry is free, and there is no limit to how many artworks each child can submit.

Two major prize winners (one from each age category) will collaborate with Spencil's in‑house designers to turn their artwork into products, receive one of each product featuring their design, a $100 cash prize and a special Spencil prize bundle, as well as an official Award Certificate. There are also 20 runner‑up prizes of $50 Spencil vouchers and weekly 'staff pick' goodie packs to reward creativity throughout the competition period.
"The Spencil Art Prize is all about celebrating the uniqueness of each and every child and giving them a platform to feel seen and proud of their creativity," said Caitlin Spencer, General Manager at Spencil. "This competition encourages kids to slow down, create something from the heart with their hands, and share it with family, friends and the wider community."
All eligible entries will be displayed in Spencil's online gallery, allowing families to share their child's artwork with loved ones and celebrate their creative achievements. A panel of judges selected by Spencil will assess artworks on artistic merit, with winners announced on 1 April 2026 via email and Spencil's social media channels.
