The Southland Symphony Orchestra proudly launches its 2025–2026 Season with A Musical Mosaic — a vibrant program that celebrates cultural richness, regional identity, and musical innovation. • "Estampas Mexicanas" – José Elizondo
  A colorful and evocative suite in which each movement paints vivid musical portraits of Mexican culture — from lively festivals to serene landscapes.
• "Two Soulful Spirituals" – Arr. Michal Dawson Connor, orchestrated by Sylvia Lee Mann
  Moving new orchestrations of "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen" and "Michal, Row Your Boat Ashore!", honoring the enduring power of African American spirituals.
• "Overture to the Song of Hiawatha" – Samuel Coleridge-Taylor
  A lush and noble overture by the Afro-British composer celebrated as the "African Mahler," based on Longfellow's The Song of Hiawatha.
