South Bend: Improvements Coming to O'Brien Park

June 23, 2026 — The City of South Bend has begun construction on several improvements at O'Brien Park. Planned upgrades include a new splash pad, playground and outdoor restrooms. Also, as part of the project, a new sidewalk will be constructed along the north side of Walter Street between Fellows and Michigan streets. The O'Brien Skate Park remains open and will not be impacted by construction.
