Sakai 21 includes improvements to Sakai's LESSONS tool that help instructors make better use of colors and multi-column layouts to build effective learning pathways. Sakai also includes a new dark mode that enhances the experience of learners and instructors.

SoftwareReviews, a division of the world-class IT research and consulting firm Info-Tech Research Group, named Sakai the top LMS in 17 of 22 survey categories, and the top LMS overall.
