Rian Wyld Talks Recent Viral Feud with Timbaland, AI-based Labels, and Moving Forward

NEW YORK - EntSun -- New York artist Rian Wyld was brought to the forefront of hip-hop national media coverage due to a public feud with iconic record producer Timbaland.

After a seemingly innocuous disagreement on social media, the widely respected hitmaker bombarded the emerging female indie artist's Instagram posts with a series of disparaging remarks.

In what Allhiphop called "A blistering diss," Rian released the song "Comments," and took the music legend to task on a few of his recent controversies, including his publicized intentions to launch an AI-based record label, which has been widely perceived as attempting to exclude human artists from future opportunities.

She also called him out for allegations of leveraging his stardom to charge talent for artistic critique via his platform, BeatClub. Additionally, she referenced recent legal action taken against Timbaland for uploading the work of another producer, K Fresh, to the GenAI music service Suno without permission.

While Rian Wyld didn't imagine or seek being thrust into the spotlight under these circumstances, she has no qualms in taking advantage of the attention to bring light to the challenges women artists face in a male-dominated industry.

In a recent interview with SYL Media, when asked about the possibility of reconciliation with Timbaland, she responded, "I want to work with producers who are hungry, passionate about music today, and open to building something. Not people who are promoting AI as artists. I'm not interested in that.
