~ Naperville Police Department Offers Youth Academy for Local Teens
The Naperville Police Department has announced that they are now accepting applications for their upcoming six-week Youth Academy. The academy, which will take place this summer, aims to give teens a better understanding of the police department and provide them with a positive interaction with law enforcement officers.
Starting on June 11, 2026, and continuing every Thursday night through July 23 (excluding the week of July 4), the academy will be held at the Naperville Police Department from 6 to 8 p.m. This free program is open to high school students who reside in Naperville or attend high school in the area.
The academy will consist of a series of classes, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations covering various topics such as police patrol operations, police canines, investigations, special response teams, and forensics. It offers an excellent opportunity for teens to gain a working knowledge of the police department and interact with officers in a positive environment.
