Recover From The Holidays With Restorative Yoga With Acupuncture
EntSun News/10644608
SKOKIE, Ill. - Dec. 8, 2015 - EntSun -- North Branch Yoga and Northshore Acupuncture Center have partnered to help people relieve stress through a restorative yoga class with an acupuncture balancing treatment.
"Many of us run ourselves ragged during the holiday season - missing sleep, eating improperly, and going crazy preparing for and worrying about the holidays," says Amy Landolt, Licensed Acupuncturist. "We are inviting people to make some time for restorative yoga with acupuncture to relieve stress and strengthen their immune system."
The idea for combining restorative yoga with acupuncture actually came about when Tabitha Carney, yoga instructor, attended a Northshore Acupuncture Center group ear acupuncture stress relief event. "We started talking about the benefits of yoga and acupuncture. I am constantly recommending a regular yoga practice for my patients. Tabitha is a big advocate for acupuncture. We loved the idea of exposing people to the power of both in one session. So, we teamed up with Scott and Felicia Holtz, owners of North Branch Yoga and immediately began to plan our first restorative yoga with acupuncture event," says Landolt.

"Together these two healing modalities will rapidly restore the harmonious balance between your sympathetic('fight or flight') and parasympathetic ('rest and digest') nervous systems . You will rest and release stress in restorative yoga poses that create a gentle passive stretch, while receiving ear acupuncture treatment with needles skillfully placed in acupuncture points to erase stress," shares Carney. Participants appreciate having alternative approaches for managing stress. "I am always looking for natural, healthy ways to reduce stress.. After attending Amy and Tabitha's session I felt recharged, relaxed and ready for the holidays," says Janet Miranda, restorative yoga with acupuncture participant.
For those not ready for a full acupuncture treatment, there are many stress relief options. People are welcome to participate in the restorative yoga only, or can try seeds or magnets that are secured to points in the ear to stimulate acupressure. "When you are in the same space with four or more people receiving an acupuncture stress relief treatment, you receive some of the benefits of the acupuncture even without getting the treatment yourself," says
