Liverpool, 25th November 2025 – A gripping new theatrical production, A Time to Kill by acclaimed playwright Mike Howl, brings audiences face-to-face with one of music history's darkest moments: the assassination of John Lennon outside The Dakota Building in New York on 8th December 1980.
A Story That Changed the World
A Time to Kill takes audiences on an emotional journey through the final hours of John Lennon's life, from the moment Mark David Chapman approaches him for an autograph at 5pm to the devastating announcement at 2am: "John Lennon is dead."
Through powerful storytelling and innovative staging, the production explores not just the events of that fateful night, but the lives forever altered by a single act of violence. The play features key figures including George Harrison, Cynthia Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Chapman himself, weaving together multiple perspectives to create a haunting portrait of loss and its aftermath.

The production employs striking multimedia elements including projections of The Dakota Building, the iconic Double Fantasy album sleeve, and carefully choreographed soundscapes that transport audiences to that December evening in 1980.
