Ocean Network Express Bets on Kalundborg

EntSun News/11099746
LONDON - EntSun -- From October, Ocean Network Express (ONE) will move its Zealand container operations to the Port of Kalundborg. The agreement is expected to significantly increase cargo volumes and strengthen Kalundborg's position as a key logistics hub for Zealand.

The Port of Kalundborg and APM Terminals have entered into an agreement with ONE, making the global container shipping line the terminal's newest customer. ONE's first call is scheduled for October 4 with the vessel Penang Bridge.

The new service will provide a weekly container call, creating a direct connection between Zealand and major European logistics hubs, including Rotterdam and Antwerp. The move is expected to increase container activity and improve access to international supply chains for businesses across Zealand.

"With ONE on board, we are taking an important step toward our ambition of making Kalundborg Zealand's largest container terminal," says Port Director Bent Rasmussen.

For ONE, the move is part of a strategic upgrade of its SCX service, aimed at providing customers with improved efficiency, flexibility, and a stronger logistics network in Denmark.

The partnership builds on investments made through the Green Zealand Gateway project, including electrified cranes, electric terminal equipment, and improvements to terminal capacity and efficiency. The long-term ambition is to make Kalundborg Zealand's leading container hub and the Nordic region's first CO₂-neutral container terminal.
