Northwest Shoe Brand Partners to Provide Economic Opportunities in Developing Countries

BOTHELL, Wash. - EntSun -- Since 2015 children's footwear brand, See Kai Run has partnered with non-profit, Soles4Souls to help make a positive difference around the world and break the cycle of poverty through footwear donations. This year, See Kai Run is providing over 1,000 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls 4Opportunity program, which helps people start and sustain small businesses.

"In many communities, especially those in developing countries, it's difficult to escape poverty," explained Soles4Souls President and CEO Buddy Teaster. "The 4Opportunity program helps people start small businesses by selling shoes within their local communities. These businesses not only provide employment and income for families, they also help meet the need for shoes in the community."

See Kai Run CEO, Helen Rockey knows just how important their role is towards the 4Opportunity mission. "Inventory is critical to launching and growing these small, community-based businesses," said Rocky. "The inventory we provide allows them to start or sustain that business, so the change we're looking to make really starts with a donation."

According to Soles4Souls, entrepreneurs participating in 4Opportunity have been able to increase their household income by more than 200%, with 1 in 4 entrepreneurs able to purchase a home through selling shoes.

In addition to helping people start new businesses, Soles4Souls provides shoes and clothing to people in crisis through their 4Relief program and athletic shoes to disadvantaged children through their 4Everykid program.
