Otra vez (Once Again) - Fashion Art Installation

PORTLAND, Ore. - EntSun -- The Imperfecta Gallery is excited to present Otra vez (Once Again). On view April 2-25 2026, the show is a fashion art installation by Alejandra Oyervides (Ale O) that explores transformation, renewal, and the hidden beauty within discarded materials.

Through garments created from recycled and repurposed elements, Oyervides' work invites us to reconsider what is often overlooked or discarded. Each piece reflects a process of reimagining—where fragments of the past are reshaped into forms that are meaningful, expressive, and beautiful once again.

In this installation, fashion becomes both sculpture and storytelling. Ale O's garments demonstrate how sustainability and artistry can coexist, highlighting the possibilities that emerge when materials are approached with care, imagination, and intention. Through thoughtful design, recycled elements are transformed into pieces that evoke confidence, empowerment, and individuality, celebrating the strength and beauty that can emerge from transformation.

During the opening reception (April 2, 5-8pm), the installation will come to life through a live model activation, where garments will be worn and move through the space among visitors. This moment invites the audience to experience the pieces not only as objects but as living forms that embody movement, presence, and the empowering energy of fashion in motion.

On April 11 the artist will give a free talk at 2pm.

Gallery Opening Hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm – EXCEPT first Wednesdays (closed) and first Thursdays (open 5-8pm only). The gallery is located at 809 NW Flanders st, Portland OR.
