A New Take on Shakespeare's Hamlet: L.A. Author Publishes A Tale of Two Hamlets
EntSun News/11107250
LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- What happens when a lifelong love of Shakespeare's Hamlet inspires a writer to pen a tribute in limericks and other genres? What happens is A Tale of Two Hamlets: Shakespeare's Masterpiece in Limericks and Other Genres.
In this imaginative and multifaceted collection published October 27, Sharon Arpana Edwards revisits Shakespeare's celebrated tragedy through five distinct literary approaches. These include a retelling in 32 limericks, a short story set in Los Angeles, a five-act parody set in Scandinavia, a memoir, and an essay exploring the play's enduring appeal.
"A Tale of Two Hamlets is a love letter to my favorite play," says Edwards. "I hope readers will discover something new about a work that has fascinated audiences for over four centuries."
Playful literary adaptations coexist with more personal and reflective writing in this themed collection, offering both longtime Shakespeare enthusiasts and general readers an engaging glimpse into the many dimensions of a familiar masterpiece.
