Family drama 7000 Miles explores a possible alternate reality wherein the legendary aviator chooses a life of anonymity following her historic flights.

POMPTON PLAINS, N.J. - EntSun -- BayView Entertainment, Inc., a New Jersey-based film distributor is proud to announce the release of 7000 Miles.

Executive Produced by Tasha Watson, the film centers on female pilot, Jo, struggling to work in the 1970s, when male pilots dominated the field. Despite such obstacles, she remains determined… even more so when she learns her grandmother "Meli" may secretly be the legendary Amelia Earhart!

Starring award-winning actress Wendie Malick as Meli, the film also features rising star Alixzandra Dove as Jo, and famous real-life wife-husband acting duo, Juliet Mills and Maxwell Caulfield.

A special theatrical screening featuring the cast and crew is set for October 1, 2025, 7:30 p.m. PST at the Laemmle NoHo 7 theater located at 5240 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91601.

The film will also be released that week as a buy or rent option from finer streaming platforms.

In the 88 years since Earhart vanished over the Pacific Ocean on what would have been a record-setting flight around the world, interest in the pioneering aviator has never waned. In fact, it has only grown, spurred on by biographer Laurie Gwen Shapiro, author of "The Aviator and the Showman."

"My mother and I envisioned, 'What if Amelia Earhart had survived and started a new life in Hawaii?'" says Dove. "We wanted to explore this story steeped in mystery and a multigenerational connection bonding daughters, mothers, and grandmothers."

"I was drawn to its setting and the world of aviation in the 1970's with both a determined grandmother and her granddaughter struggling to break through the glass ceiling," says director Amy Glazer. "As a female filmmaker my body of work speaks to themes facing women of many generations. Our hope is that this will resonate with girls and grandmothers alike."

BayView Entertainment, Inc. President Peter Castro added, "With its ties to history, a poignant tale about family, and top-tier talent bringing the story to life, we are confident viewers will embrace 7000 Miles."
