Netflix "Fastest Car" Series Taps Supercar Owner Bryan L. Salamone

Long Island divorce lawyer and Lamborghini enthusiast makes his drag-racing debut
MELVILLE, N.Y. - April 6, 2018 - EntSun -- Long Island divorce attorney Bryan L. Salamone is featured prominently in "Fastest Car," the new Netflix Original Series debuting April 6, 2018. The show pits fully loaded supercars such as Salamone's Lamborghini SV Roadster against "deceptively fast" hand-crafted sleeper cars — second- or third-hand jalopies souped-up to dragster speed. The series tapped Mr. Salamone as much for his larger-than-life persona as for his love of luxury sports cars.
With "Fastest Car," Netflix offers a distinctly American twist to the David and Goliath story. The shows feature battles between true "gearheads," whose redesigned cars reach speeds their appearance belies, and wealthy owners of luxury sports cars designed for peak performance.
Mr. Salamone said he embraced his role "in the spirit of competition" and as "an opportunity to show the rough edges of my personality, which you can't do when you're in court fighting on behalf of a client. After all, I grew up in the age of mega-villains like Dr. No and Goldfinger. These guys were wealthy, had their underground lairs in exotic locations, and had the greatest toys imaginable. So, dabbling in that role was definitely fun." Mr. Salamone even brought his own "Bond girl" along for the ride: his girlfriend, Divina.

Still, there was a limit to how far Salamone could go as a Netflix nemesis: "Many of [the sleeper car owners] have had a rough go, as targets of bullying or because of physical challenges. But they have such passion for their cars. You can't help but respect them and root for them even as you're trying to beat them. We came away with a great deal of mutual respect."
Mr. Salamone doesn't intend to do more drag racing, though he'll "take a rematch any time." But he will continue to use his Lambo to raise money for charity, at upcoming events like the goldRush Rally and the Gumball 3000. In 2018, he will be appearing in supercar events in 15 cities spread out through the United States, Europe, and Asia.
