Metamora Film Festival 2026 Announces Campus Edition at Pueblo Community College
EntSun News/11064362
Justice-themed film festival brings national voices and local conversations to Pueblo Community College.
PUEBLO, Colo. - EntSun -- The Metamora Film Festival will host an in-person and virtual two-day event at Pueblo Community College on March 27 and 28, 2026, bringing powerful, justice-centered storytelling to the heart of southern Colorado. Focused on themes of incarceration, reentry, sex offense registry, legal reform, and human dignity, the festival serves as a platform for filmmakers, students, educators, and community members to engage in dialogue through the lens of independent film.
Held at the Hoag Theater at Pueblo Community College, this immersive experience will feature a curated series of film screenings, filmmaker Q&As, audience discussions, and community conversations. While the lineup is being kept under wraps until the full program release, attendees can expect a wide range of narratives and documentaries that explore the realities of the criminal legal system and those directly impacted by it.

The partnership between Metamora Films and Pueblo Community College reflects a shared commitment to education, equity, and civic engagement. As a campus rooted in access and public service, PCC provides the perfect backdrop for films that challenge injustice and call viewers to reflection and action. Both days of programming are open to the public, offering opportunities for students and community members alike to attend screenings, participate in discussions, and connect with advocates and filmmakers.
Metamora Film Festival is nationally recognized for highlighting independent voices that are often overlooked—films that raise awareness about structural inequality while centering lived experience. The Pueblo 2026 edition of the festival aims to create space not only for film appreciation but also for collective learning and community healing.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will present several awards honoring excellence in justice storytelling, including the Best Justice Narrative Student Justice Film, System-Impacted Filmmaker, and Audience Choice recognition. Select filmmakers will be invited to speak during post-screening conversations, and some will be interviewed specifically for virtual attendees.
