Mark J.P. Hood: From NBC's The Voice to becoming one of the breakout stars of 'Churchy'

LOS ANGELES - EntSun -- Mark J.P. Hood, the Award Winning Chicagoan actor and director who first came on the scene singing his way into the hearts of 15.7 million viewers on Season 9 of NBC's The Voice is back in the national spotlight once again. Affectionately known as the heartthrob breakout star of Churchy, Hood reprises his role as Rodney Joseph for another season of the hit workplace comedy alongside series creator and co-star Kevin "KevOnStage" Fredericks.

The second season of the BET+ Original Series opened up to a warm reception in Hood's beloved hometown of Chicago on August 17th at a sneak peek screening at XL FEST (hosted by Artsoul Radio & Actor Empowerment Summit). Hood joined the cast and hosts on stage for the Q&A portion of the screening. Friends and family members were in attendance celebrating with the cast until the memorable night ended. The cast flew back to Los Angeles the following day to prepare for the star-studded red carpet premiere on August 19th which was hosted at the infamous Linwood Dunn Theater.

Season two of Churchy is bigger and better, bringing in more new fans by the day. The positive feedback to the sneak previews shown in Chicago and Los Angeles have been electrifying. Fans have gravitated towards Mark J.P. Hood's hilarious performance of the lovable Rodney Joseph alongside his co-stars Tahir Moore, Quin Walters and Jasmine Luv. Season one, fans were re-introduced to Hood's vocal range as his character, the musical director, leads the Church choir. Behind the scenes, Hood was arranging and vocal producing the music utilizing both his musical and directorial backgrounds.
