EntSun News/11104500
~ Preliminary unofficial results for the 2026 City and Borough of Juneau regular municipal election are posted on the CBJ Elections webpage, covering ballots received and verified through Monday, October 5.

Election Day was October 6. The by-mail election began with ballots mailed to voters on September 18; ballots started returning on September 21. To be counted, ballots had to be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day or postmarked that day.

Based on trends in previous elections, the preliminary results are expected to represent about 55% to 60% of the total ballot count, according to the city and borough. Ballots cast at Vote Centers on Election Day, placed in drop boxes, or mailed with an Election Day postmark are still being processed.

A second set of unofficial results is scheduled to be posted Friday, October 9, with further updates as needed until certification. The Canvass Review Board is scheduled to meet October 19 and 20 to review and certify the election. Final official results are expected to be posted after certification on October 20, though certification may be delayed by up to three days on a case-by-case basis.

The Elections Office said it is sending cure letters to voters whose ballots require missing information or signature remedies. Voters are encouraged to watch for the letters and respond promptly so their ballots can be approved for counting.

Election information is available at juneau.org/clerk/elections. Voters with questions can call the Ballot Processing Center at 907-586-5278, option 4. The Clerk's/Elections Office will open at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7.
