JCO Bookkeeping Firm: Filipino-Founded in 2021, Now Formally Established in Ontario, Canada
EntSun News/11106766
MILTON, Ontario - EntSun -- JCO Bookkeeping Firm (https://jcobookkeepingfirm.com), the bookkeeping practice founded by bookkeeper Jeremy Ortega, has formally established in Canada. The Canada Revenue Agency issued the firm its Business Number and GST/HST account on October 27, 2026, and its Ontario business name registration was completed on October 28, 2026 as a sole proprietorship. The firm is based in Milton, Ontario.
JCO Bookkeeping Firm began in the Philippines in 2021, where it is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). Five years of keeping books for Philippine businesses now stand behind a second home in Canada: one practice, rooted on both sides of the Pacific, offering bookkeeping, tax preparation, and consulting.
The firm's clients are small business owners — and, distinctively, newcomers and overseas Filipino workers building businesses in a new country. A newcomer opening a first Canadian business faces two worlds of paperwork at once: forms and deadlines in Canada, and records and obligations that still reach back to the Philippines. JCO Bookkeeping Firm was built by someone who has lived on both sides of that desk, and it serves clients who need a bookkeeper who understands both. Clean books, kept on time, explained in plain words — that is the whole offer, and the firm finds it is offer enough.

Beyond client work, the practice builds tools for the trade it loves. JCO Books is the firm's own bookkeeping web application, built in-house for the way small firms actually work. The firm also publishes Bookkeeping Basics, a book that teaches the fundamentals of bookkeeping in the plain language the firm uses with its own clients — because a business owner who understands the books makes better decisions with them.
"Good bookkeeping is quiet work — nobody applauds a balanced ledger," said Jeremy Ortega, founder and bookkeeper. "But every business decision stands on those numbers. I started JCO in the Philippines in 2021 to keep small businesses' books honestly and on time. Establishing the firm here in Ontario means the same promise, now kept on both sides of the Pacific: your books, balanced; your deadlines, met; your questions, answered in words a person can understand."
JCO Bookkeeping Firm is open to clients now. Small business owners, newcomers, and OFWs in Canada — and businesses in the Philippines — can reach the firm through its website at https://jcobookkeepingfirm.com.
