inUpowers Debuts AI-Powered App to Support Emotional Health
EntSun News/11084839
A small company introduces a new app using AI powered tools to build emotional resilience.
REXBURG, Idaho - EntSun -- A startup company in Idaho called inUpowers has just started open beta testing for an app integrating AI as a tool for building emotional awareness and resilience. The inUpowers app features a cast of characters meant to represent different states of mind and emotional impulses. Clients share their thoughts, feelings and struggles in calls with the different characters who then supply responses generated by AI. This program is meant for users to talk their way through their feelings, both positive and negative, in a way that will help them build emotional awareness and understanding, while acknowledging their feelings with an openness that allows negative emotions to dissipate naturally instead of being repressed or stifled.
"Instead of artificial intelligence, we like to call it assistive intelligence, because we want everything we do to have the human touch and connect the human family." -Tami Hymas, company founder and director.

According to the company, the inUpowers app is designed to support and supplement human connection instead of replace it. These ideals can be seen in the way the characters are designed to handle sensitive topics such as abuse or drug usage. The AI is instructed to use content suitable for G or PG audiences. If the client raises sensitive issues, the AI will encourage human connection as a solution. With plans to continue using this technology in the future, inUpowers is working to prepare for expected growth with appropriate policies.
"Our goal is to people, so it's really important to us that we make our products as safe and accessible as we can. As we've been trying to develop these tools and solutions, the people who will use them have constantly been on our minds." - Hymas
For inUpowers, the next step is public feedback. Having tested it to the extent possible, inUpowers is now looking for people to try the app and give their opinions on it. Each user's opinion promises to be invaluable in making further improvements and fixes, especially in the growing intersection of emotional wellbeing and AI technology. Any and all perspectives are welcome to help in the development of a growing project with the potential to change lives.
