Hollywood Makeup Artist Kelcey Fry Reveals Inside Scoop on Winn Claybaugh's MASTERS Podcast

RIVERDALE, Utah - EntSun -- Kelcey Fry describes herself as a rare professional makeup artist who didn't grow up dreaming about that career. She started as a hairdresser and then went into cosmetic sales, photo shoots, and freelance makeup jobs. In the late 1980s, she headed for Hollywood, hoping to enroll in the Joe Blasco Makeup Artist Training Center. After seeing her impressive portfolio, the school offered to train her as an instructor, and soon after, she became Mr. Blasco's apprentice.

Impressed with the students Kelcey turned out, ABC-TV called her for an interview. She began work on General Hospital and was part of the department that won the 1985 daytime Emmy for makeup. She later worked with Lily Tomlin, Helen Hunt, Donald Sutherland, Minnie Driver, Nancy Travis and was Diane Keaton's personal makeup artist for many years.

Kelcey's career highlights include films such as The Artist, Hitchcock, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Pirates of the Caribbean I and II, Something's Gotta Give, and The Soloist. She earned Emmy awards for General Hospital, The Last Tycoon, and Glee.

Kelcey taught with Joe Blasco and his schools for more than 20 years and continued teaching as a guest artist for Blasco, Fred Segal, MAC Pro, and numerous others.
