Oregon-based robotics company advances mission to democratize disinfection and help break the chain of pathogen transmission worldwide

PORTLAND, Ore. - EntSun -- Haystack Robotics, Inc., developer of Violet AI–an autonomous, AI-powered UV-C disinfection robot–today announced the closing of a $3.95 million Series A financing round to accelerate global expansion and advance its proprietary artificial intelligence and robotics platform.

The inside investment was led by an entity associated with Agadia Systems, Inc., a healthcare technology company and existing Haystack investor.

Haystack develops intelligent autonomous systems designed to make high-level environmental disinfection more consistent, scalable and accessible. By combining artificial intelligence, autonomous navigation and UV-C technology, the company aims to give healthcare organizations and other facilities a practical way to strengthen environmental hygiene without creating additional demands on already strained workforces.

"Our vision has always been bigger than building a robot," said Mahadev Eakambaram, Founder and CEO of Haystack Robotics. "We want to make advanced disinfection technology accessible to more people, in more places around the world. This investment gives us the ability to accelerate that mission, expand our technology and continue building solutions that can have a meaningful impact on human health."

AI and Robotics Addressing a Global Challenge

Violet AI (https://haystackrobotics.com/violet-gen4/) is a fully autonomous mobile robot that delivers UV-C disinfection while dynamically navigating complex environments without requiring environmental pre-mapping.

Haystack's technology has applications across healthcare, senior living, education, hospitality, fitness, commercial facilities and other environments where people share spaces and surfaces.

"We firmly believe that Haystack's advanced AI and robotic solutions will play a critical role in reducing healthcare-associated infections, improving patient experiences, and increasing operational efficiencies," said Sri Swarna, President and CEO of Agadia Systems. "We are highly impressed with Haystack's industry-leading technology, their mission, and the team's ability to scale in this rapidly expanding market."

Scaling the Next Phase of Haystack Robotics

From its headquarters in Portland, Oregon, Haystack is building at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence and infection prevention, with a growing global footprint and an ambition to make sophisticated disinfection technology available far beyond the institutions that have traditionally been able to afford automation.

The company's long-term vision is to help change how facilities approach environmental disinfection—not by replacing people, but by giving teams autonomous tools capable of performing repetitive, difficult-to-standardize tasks consistently.

"Our goal is ultimately about people," Eakambaram said. "If we can use robotics and AI to help prevent infections, protect frontline teams and create safer environments, then we have an opportunity to save lives. That's the impact we're building toward."
