DENVER ~ Denver, CO - Governor Jared Polis and Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera welcomed Premier Charles Washington Misick of the Turks and Caicos Islands to Colorado yesterday to discuss the strong relationship and economic ties between the two regions.

Premier Misick also shared his thoughts on the meeting, describing it as "exceptionally productive." One area of potential collaboration discussed was improved air connectivity between Colorado and the Turks and Caicos Islands. Premier Misick highlighted the strong interest and demand for direct service from Denver to the islands among residents of both regions.

In 2025, Colorado companies exported $1.1 million in goods to the islands, representing a 19.5% increase over the last five years. Additionally, nearly 2 million Americans travel to Turks and Caicos each year, making up a significant portion of international tourists on the island.

This engagement further demonstrates both regions' commitment to building strategic partnerships that strengthen access, tourism, and economic opportunities for their people.
