EntSun News/11059208
ST. GEORGE, Utah - EntSun -- Girls on the Run of Southern Utah is celebrating 10 years of empowering 1,500 local girls to be joyful, confident and healthy. They will host a Glow Run 5K event on May 17 at Sullivan Soccer Field and Park in Washington, UT. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in 3rd to 8th grade. During the ten-week program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections and encourage community service while they prepare for an end-of-season celebratory 5K event.
Participation in the 5K event on May 17, 2025 is open to the public and all proceeds from the event will benefit Girls on the Run of Southern Utah. The Glow Run 5K is held in the evening under the stars with glowing lanterns guiding runners along the Virgin River trail. Last year's 5K event brought together nearly 200 participants including program participants, their family and friends and community members. Registration cost is $30 and includes an event shirt (while supplies last), medal and sweet treat at the finish line.

This season's 5K is extra special as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary in southern Utah."
