Freedom at The Mat Features Fox Rich In Women's Wellness Experience in New Orleans
EntSun News/11105233
Freedom Fête offers women an afternoon of self-care activities at the New Orleans Jazz Museum on Sunday, October 18.
NEW ORLEANS - EntSun -- Freedom at The Mat will present Freedom Fête, a women's wellness event, on Sunday, October 18, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the New Orleans Jazz Museum's Education Center. The event provides an opportunity for women to prioritize well-being and connect with community. The afternoon will include a live podcast recording on the power of womanhood, an ancestral meditation session, and massages.
The annual wellness experience brings together conversation, connection, and restorative programming. This year's event centers on a live podcast recording featuring film director and matriarch Fox Rich and Freedom at The Mat founder Olivia F. Scott, exploring themes of fortitude and the power of being a woman. Ancestral medium and movement healer Shanda Domango will lead a grounding meditation session. The NOW Massage New Orleans, owned by Jazmine Mitchell, will provide massages for attendees.

"My prayer in prison was that God would allow me to use my voice once I am free. I am honored to be entrusted to share my wisdom with women at Freedom Fête," says Fox Rich.
Freedom Fête was initiated by Scott in 2024 to serve as an urban retreat for those unable to go away for a real vacation. "Freedom Fête is an experience designed for women to reground and reconnect with themselves, each other, their gifts, and dreams, to live healthier lives. I am grateful to serve New Orleans women through this event," says Olivia F. Scott.
Freedom Fête's 2026 theme is renewal, connection and transformation. The event is designed to support time-starved women seeking a pause. Each year, approximately 50 women attend and are served. The Sunday afternoon session invites women of all ages, ethnicities, and social classes to gather, reflect, and make room for personal renewal. The afternoon reflects Freedom at The Mat's commitment to creating welcoming spaces where women can prioritize their well-being and connect with community in a safe space.
