Free Breast Cancer Care Yoga Workshops Offered for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

INDIANAPOLIS - EntSun -- Join us for a supportive and empowering yoga session focused on breast cancer care and recovery. Workshops held at two locations:

Studies have shown yoga's many benefits for breast cancer patients including:

This gentle, all-levels workshop uses breathwork, poses, and relaxation methods with props such as the wall, chairs, blankets, and bolsters allowing participants to receive the benefits of a calmer nervous system and greater body awareness starting with the first class.

"There was a time when I needed a class like Bosom Buddies Yoga and there were no yoga courses or workshops in our community that addressed the specific needs of breast cancer recovery. That is why I worked with breast care professionals to develop this workshop," said Diane Fitzgerald, certified yoga instructor and owner of Bosom Buddies Yoga.

In our workshops and classes, participants can begin to regain strength, manage some of the side effects of treatment, and begin to find some of that joy again that the experience of breast cancer can sometimes diminish."

"At She Shop Fitness, our mission is to create a supportive community where women can move and connect," added Samantha Minich, owner of She Shop Fitness. We are a women-focused studio in Indianapolis offering daily classes in yoga, Pilates, strength, dance cardio, and HIIT, all within a safe and welcoming environment. Partnering with Diane to host her breast cancer care yoga workshop allows us to extend that mission to women in recovery, survivorship, and support roles, offering them a space outside of the clinical setting to focus on healing and wellness."
