FloorLine Launches Live Shop Floor Tracking for Small Manufacturers

SEATTLE - EntSun -- FloorLine today launched shop floor tracking software for small manufacturers: job shops, fabricators, coaters, and cabinet makers with roughly 5 to 250 people. A tablet at every station and a live board in the office show where every job is, what's running late, and what's on hand.

Many small shops still run production on a whiteboard, a spreadsheet, and paper travelers. Finding an order often means walking the floor, and inventory is only as good as the last count. With FloorLine, operators tap their name on the station's tablet, enter a PIN, and start or finish their step, or scan the barcode on the order's printed traveler. The office's live view updates within seconds, and the same board can run on a shop-floor TV. If the Wi-Fi drops, the tablet keeps working and catches up later.

Inventory follows the work: materials leave stock when a step starts, and finished goods go in when the order is done. Purchase, delivery, and sales orders live in the same system, and FloorLine flags items running low. The Mid plan adds a planning calendar, material requirements planning (MRP), lot and serial number tracking, downtime and OEE tracking, and job costing.

"A 20-person shop doesn't need an ERP to know where its jobs are. It needs to stop walking the floor to find them," said David Caywood, founder of FloorLine. "I wanted something a shop could set up in an afternoon, that operators would actually use, at a price you can see before you call anyone."
