Evansville: Mayor Terry Appoints Brian S. Mundy as City Engineer

Evansville, Ind. ~ Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry has announced the appointment of Brian S. Mundy P.E., P.S., as the new City Engineer, effective April 6, 2026. In this role, Mundy will be responsible for overseeing all city engineering operations, including the planning, coordination, and execution of capital improvement projects.

With over 30 years of experience in managing public infrastructure projects, Mundy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new position. He has worked in various sectors including consulting, local government, and the private industry, gaining experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation systems. Mundy holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor.

Mundy's career began in government where he served as County Engineer for Spencer County and Assistant County Engineer for Warrick County. He also worked as a Project Manager for the Indiana Department of Transportation before moving on to senior engineering and leadership roles with companies such as Beam, Longest & Neff LLC, Shoe Carnival Inc., Wessler Engineering, and WTH Engineering. Most recently, he served as a Senior Project Manager at Lochmueller Group where he managed engineering projects across Indiana.

Mayor Terry expressed her confidence in Mundy's abilities stating that "Brian brings decades of experience and a deep understanding of infrastructure systems that are vital to our city's growth and quality of life." She believes that his leadership will help ensure smart investments are made in roads, sidewalks, and other critical infrastructure to strengthen the city's future and enhance the daily lives of its residents.

Mundy also shared his excitement about his new role saying "I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the City of Evansville as City Engineer." He looks forward to working with staff members, elected officials, and residents to deliver safe and reliable infrastructure solutions that support continued growth and improve quality of life.
