Edamam Releases an AI Food Logging Agent

Edamam's AI Food Logging Agent aims to provide health and wellness businesses with best-in-class meal tracking solution.
NEW YORK - EntSun -- Edamam, a leading provider of food and nutrition data and solutions for health, wellness, and food companies, soft launched today a new AI Food Logging Agent. The Food Logging Agent is a white label solution offered by Edamam to businesses that need to build meal tracking functionality without having to integrate with Edamam's APIs, MCP server, or license the company's data.
"Many of our customers do not have engineering resources to utilize our current capabilities, so we have built an out-of-the-box solution" explained Victor Penev, Edamam's Founder and CEO.
Edamam's AI Food Logging Agent provides basic user experience, allowing end customers to log any meal they have eaten in an easy and convenient way. The key functionalities include:
"We cover all the basic ways people use to log and track meals," elaborated Victor Penev.

Edamam's Food Logging Agent will eventually be expanded to cover lass common use cases, such as taking photos of recipes in cookbooks or uploading recipe URLs. The agent is still in an early private alpha and interested customers can sign up and request access at https://www.nutritionwizard.com/ . Developers or companies interested in testing the new AI Meal Planner can join a wait list.
Edamam's Food Logging Agent leverages Edamam's MCP Food server, which in turn is built as a LLM solution on top of Edamam's Food Database API. It is the first of several agents, which will allow Edamam's customers to build end-to-end diet management solutions, including personalized meal recommendations and planning. The agents will act in coordination to provide a de facto virtual nutritionist.

- · Barcode scanning for packed food items with UPC codes
