Dynamic new online directory helps global shoppers discover, support black-owned businesses

WASHINGTON - EntSun -- In midst of the social unrest sparked by George Floyd's death and calls for racial equity across the globe, one African-American entrepreneur has launched a new site directing the world's shoppers to support black-owned businesses.

"Black Good" is a comprehensive directory of black-owned brands from the U.S. and around the world. Businesses in the directory span everything from local beauty shops, bookstores, and restaurants to e-commerce shops, branding agencies, financial services, and technology companies with a national or international footprint.

The common denominator for all brands is a commitment to providing exceptional products and services.

As of today's launch, the directory now includes more than 500 brands, with more joining daily.

Black Good is itself a black woman-owned and founded enterprise created by entrepreneur and tech industry leader Andrea Hardison.

"We are building a robust platform to celebrate black-owned businesses while offering them a central hub for showcasing their amazing work to the world as they grow," Hardison said. "We're carefully curating a list of businesses that are proudly black-owned."

Now more than ever, Hardison said, it's essential to support local businesses owned by people of color everywhere. Black Good was started as a way to showcase and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and resilience of black business owners in America, who need to have the drive and determination to not only face countless setbacks like reduced funding and societal prejudice but also carry the weight of building wealth in their communities.

"Our core belief is that black-owned businesses deserve the same level of financial, economic, and societal support as our competitors," Hardison said. "We also believe that our community deserves the same level of security, prosperity, and progress as every other community – and we need your help to achieve it. The companies in the Black Good directory are owned by our neighbors, employ other neighbors, and know the needs of our communities very well. Together we can help them thrive."
