Dr. Heavenly Kimes Takes Action For Georgia's District 13

CONYERS, Ga. - EntSun -- My name is Dr. Heavenly Kimes. I stand before the people of Georgia's 13th Congressional District not only as a medical professional of more than two decades, but as a mother, a wife, and the proud daughter of a United States veteran. I have spent my life healing people — now I seek to help heal this nation.

At a time when the Supreme Court has weakened protections that once guaranteed minority communities a full voice in our democracy, many are asking whether districts like the 13th will survive. My answer is simple: our power was never confined to lines on a map. Our power lives in the people.

If they redraw the districts, then we redraw the future.

This is not a moment for division among brothers and sisters competing for office. Every candidate who steps forward to serve deserves respect. I will not tear down my own people to climb higher. Let the best candidate win, and let the people decide.

But let nobody misunderstand this moment. Attempts to weaken the Voting Rights Act or silence diverse voices will not break us — they will expand us. We are prepared to compete anywhere, against anyone, on the strength of our ideas, our work ethic, and our faith in the American people.

While politicians fight yesterday's battles, families are worried about today: our children being sent to war, jobs disappearing to global competition, hospitals stretched beyond capacity, and schools falling behind the rest of the world. America cannot lead the future while abandoning its people in the present.

I believe in an America that is both progressive and prosperous. An America where business grows, workers rise, healthcare is world-class, education leads the globe, and democracy belongs to all of us — not just the powerful few.

This is a new day. A new generation. And a new way to lead.
