Chairman Walden (R-OR) chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which in September approved the SELF DRIVE Act, the first legislation to ensure the safe and innovative development, testing, and deployment of self-driving cars.

Rep. Latta (R-OH), who chairs the Subcommittee on Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection, is the bill's lead sponsor. The SELF DRIVE act passed the House by voice vote in September.
