Columbia Police arrest suspect in burglary of business on Seventh Street

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police responded to a burglary at a business in the 1200 block of Seventh Street on August 9th at approximately 11:45 a.m. Witnesses reported that the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Allen Patrick of Columbia, had stolen a fire extinguisher from a nearby business and used it to break into the building through the front door. Patrick was apprehended by police outside of the building and has been charged with second-degree burglary and stealing.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but the front door of the building sustained damage. The case number for this incident is 2026-007568 and it falls under Missouri statutes 569.170 for burglary in the second degree and 570.030 for stealing.
