Columbia: Interested Parties Meeting for Glenn-Rhonda Project

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is taking steps to address severe flooding in certain areas of the city. In an effort to gather feedback and discuss potential solutions, the City of Columbia Utilities will be hosting an interested parties meeting on Thursday, August 6.

The meeting will take place from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. along the street near 2505 Glenn Drive. This meeting is open to all residents who are interested in learning more about the upcoming stormwater project.

According to preliminary plans, the project will focus on constructing stormwater infrastructure along Glenn Drive and Rhonda Lane, with some additional work on Andy Drive. The Glenn Rhonda Stormwater Project aims to alleviate flooding by utilizing a combination of inlets, pipes, and swales.

Approximately 1,300 feet of stormwater pipe, 15 stormwater structures, and 700 feet of storm drainage channel will be installed as part of this project. The City's Stormwater Utility staff is eager to hear from residents along the street about their experiences with flooding and potential solutions.

During the meeting, information and diagrams showing preliminary plans will be available for public review. Additionally, City staff will be present to answer any questions or concerns from attendees. This is an important opportunity for community members to have their voices heard and provide valuable input on this crucial project.
