Columbia: Customers may see low pressure, discolored water during water tower maintenance

EntSun News/11100395
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Water Utility has announced that the Walnut Water Tower will be drained starting Monday, Aug. 24 for regularly scheduled major maintenance. This process will involve replacing interior and exterior coatings to extend the life of the tower, as well as implementing safety upgrades.

Residents in the surrounding area may experience slightly reduced water pressure during the initial stages of draining, which could result in some discolored water. However, this should only last for a few hours while the distribution system stabilizes.
