Colorado: SteadyFlow LLC Joins Rural Jump-Start Program, Bringing 20 New Jobs to Fremont County
EntSun News/11098961
FREMONT COUNTY — Today, Governor Polis and the Business Funding and Incentives (BF&I) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that SteadyFlow LLC, a designer and manufacturer of fully mechanical regulating headgates for irrigation and stormwater applications, has joined the Rural Jump-Start program in Fremont County.
"The Rural Jump-Start initiative supports new businesses statewide, and I am excited to welcome SteadyFlow to Fremont County, creating 20 new, good-paying jobs in the region. Water is at the center of life in Colorado, and that's why it's important we help innovative companies like SteadyFlow grow, which is bringing jobs to the area and helping modernize irrigation and stormwater systems to ensure water is efficiently used," said Governor Polis.
SteadyFlow serves irrigation districts, ditch companies, municipalities, and individual water users across Colorado. The company's patented automated flow control device, SteadyFlow Gate, delivers a constant discharge for a range of upstream water depths without the use of electricity. Over the next four years, the company plans to hire 20 new employees.
"We are on a mission to ensure that Colorado water users receive every drop of water they're entitled to, and we are excited to offer a simple but highly effective solution to the otherwise manual and time consuming process of managing headgates," said Alex Ewers, Founder of SteadyFlow. "The Rural Jump-Start Program shows that the state cares about Colorado water users, agricultural producers, the environment, and rural job creation, and we are proud to be a part of it."

SteadyFlow's launch from a concept to a market-ready solution is a uniquely Colorado success story, supported by both state and federal programs. The company SteadyFlow is a new, distinct LLC of 3 Rocks Engineering and Surveying LLC, which was awarded an Early-Stage Capital and Retention grant in 2024 through OEDIT's Advanced Industries Accelerator Program. The company also received the USDA's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II grant to support research and development of SteadyFlow Gate.
"The Rural Jump-Start program is a vital tool to support the goals of local communities across Colorado, creating jobs and diversifying our economy. We look forward to the innovation SteadyFlow will bring to the state," said Jeff Kraft, OEDIT Deputy Director.
The Rural Jump-Start program encourages economic development and job creation in economically distressed, rural counties of Colorado. This incentive supports new businesses that start or locate in participating Rural Jump-Start Zones, create new good-paying jobs, and export goods and services to customers outside the Rural Jump-Start Zone. The company will receive $15,000 in grant funding to support the launch of its operations, as well as four years of tax benefits through the Rural Jump-Start program. Eligible employees will also receive a state personal income tax credit while the company is in the program.
Sponsoring entities like Fremont Economic Development Corporation help identify business candidates in their communities and work with each business to help ensure its success in the program and in the community.
"SteadyFlow is a tremendous addition to Fremont County's growing manufacturing sector," said Rob Brown, Executive Director of the Fremont Economic Development Corporation. "Their team is developing innovative technology that improves irrigation efficiency, stormwater management, and water quality while creating quality manufacturing jobs. Their partnership with local schools through the FEDC AgSTART Initiative is helping develop the next generation of skilled workers. SteadyFlow is the kind of company that strengthens our economy while delivering solutions that benefit communities far beyond Fremont County."
