Colorado Springs: Neighbors invited to review draft plan for Old Stratton Park
EntSun News/11099884
~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department has released a draft plan for the future of Old Stratton Park and is inviting neighbors and community members to review it and provide feedback. The draft plan outlines a short-term vision for the park, with a focus on reopening, improving, and managing the space while preserving its historic character, natural resources, and neighborhood setting.
One of the key elements of the draft plan is the possibility of creating a centralized community space within Old Stratton Park. This would serve as a welcoming area for visitors if funding and partners become available. The City is seeking feedback from the community on this concept, as well as other aspects of the draft plan.
To gather input from neighbors and community members, a community meeting will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18 in the Old Stratton Park community room (formerly known as the P.E.O. Chapter House community room). Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with a presentation beginning at 5 p.m. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals to learn more about the draft plan, ask questions, and share their comments with the project team.
