EntSun News/11106400
n May 2026, detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Department's (CSPD) Metro Narcotics and Related Crimes (NARC) Unit initiated an investigation into a drug trafficking organization (DTO) operating in El Paso County. This unit consists of Detectives from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and CSPD.
During the investigation, it was discovered that members of the DTO were operating in conspiracy to distribute large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine throughout Colorado Springs and El Paso County. This information was gathered through hundreds of investigative hours spent by detectives conducting surveillance, interviewing people, and reviewing intelligence gathered by the Metro analysts.
On October 22, 2026, three residential search warrants were executed throughout El Paso County and within the city of Colorado Springs by NARC detectives with the assistance of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents with the Colorado Springs Regional Office. The search warrants resulted in the seizure of 188 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately 37,000 fentanyl pills, 2 pistols, 1 rifle, and a large amount of cash in US currency. The seized cash is still being counted, but the total cash amount is estimated to be $40,000.
