Colorado Springs: Marksheffel Road overnight closures postponed

EntSun News/11082752
~ Colorado Springs - The planned overnight closures of Marksheffel Road have been postponed due to expected inclement weather. Originally scheduled for this week, the closures will now take place in mid-February. The affected area will be from south of Tarren Heights to north of Stetson Hills Boulevard.

According to city officials, the decision to postpone the closures was made in consideration of forecasted weather conditions. Additional information regarding the new schedule will be provided closer to the start of the work.

In preparation for the future drainage work, flaggers will alternate traffic through a single lane on Marksheffel Road on Monday, January 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is necessary for sawcutting pavement at several locations between Tarren Heights and Stetson Hills Boulevard. Drivers are advised to exercise extra caution while traveling through this work zone.

However, this work is subject to change depending on weather conditions. The city has prioritized improving the existing two-lane section of Marksheffel Road between North Carefree Circle and Dublin Boulevard. Once completed, this section will have two lanes in each direction with a center median, improved drainage, and new sidewalks and paths.
