Colorado Springs: Calling all photographers: Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services accepting submissions for annual calendar photo contest
EntSun News/11065361
~ Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) is calling all photography enthusiasts to submit their best shots of the city's open spaces for the 13th edition of the Discover COS Calendar. The theme for the 2026 calendar is "Rooted in the Outdoors," aiming to showcase the essential role that these natural landscapes play in the community.
Whether you're a seasoned photographer or a casual smartphone user, PRCS wants your photos capturing the beauty and tranquility of Colorado Springs' open spaces. From stunning sunsets at Palmer Park to vibrant wildflowers at Blodgett Open Space and breathtaking limestone formations at Red Rock Canyon, all submissions are welcome.
More on EntSun News
The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 5th, 2025 at 5 p.m. Photos can be emailed to calendar@coloradosprings.gov or dropped off or mailed to 1401 Recreation Way. A panel of judges will select winning submissions, which will be announced at an awards ceremony in October.
The calendars will be printed and available for a suggested donation, with all proceeds going towards the reforestation of the former Snyder Quarry in Black Canyon Open Space. This annual tradition not only celebrates the natural beauty of Colorado Springs' parks, trails, and open spaces but also supports important conservation efforts.
PRCS reminds all participants to follow open space rules and regulations by leaving no trace when taking photos. For more information on photography guidelines and submission details, visit ColoradoSprings.gov/DiscoverCOS. Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your love for Colorado Springs' open spaces in the 2026 Discover COS Calendar.
