Colorado: Governor Polis Signs Law to Rename Cesar Chavez Day to Farm Worker Day

DENVER ~ In a move to honor the contributions and sacrifices of farm workers, Governor Polis signed HB26-1339 today, officially changing Cesar Chavez Day to Farm Workers Day. The bill was sponsored by Majority Leader Monica Duran, Representative Lorena Garcia, and Senators Jessie Danielson and Lisa Cutter.

During the signing ceremony, Governor Polis expressed his gratitude for those who have fought for justice and workers' rights. He specifically mentioned Dolores Huerta and other dedicated individuals who have been instrumental in the farmworkers movement.
