Colorado: Governor Polis Encourages Coloradans to Get Outside and Take Advantage of the Last Days of Summer
EntSun News/11099779
DENVER ~ As summer comes to a close and the new school year approaches, Governor Polis and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade are urging Coloradans to make the most of the remaining days of sunshine and warm weather. With an abundance of outdoor activities and events, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the beautiful state of Colorado.
Governor Polis himself encourages all residents to take advantage of these last few weeks by getting outside, exploring new places, and connecting with their communities. He also reminds everyone to be responsible while recreating and to respect the safety and space of Colorado's plants and animals.
Eve Lieberman, Executive Director of OEDIT, emphasizes the importance of tourism for Colorado's small towns and local economies. With celebrations for both Colorado's 150th anniversary and America's 250th anniversary, there are plenty of reasons to support local businesses and attractions.
All 32 state parks in Colorado are open for visitors to enjoy a variety of recreational activities. From hiking to camping to water sports, there is something for everyone in these beautiful outdoor spaces.
In addition to these traditional summer activities, this year also marks 250 years since American independence and 150 years since Colorado became a state. To celebrate, the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission has launched new ways for people to explore the state. The Colorado Passport Program incentivizes visiting different attractions, businesses, and hidden gems throughout the state. And Stories in the Sky offers awe-inspiring drone shows in communities across Colorado.
