Colorado: Governor Polis Applauds $17 Billion Settlement with Meta to Support Kids' Mental Health

DENVER ~ In a major development, Meta, the parent company of popular social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, has reached a $17 billion settlement with 47 states, including Colorado. The settlement comes after the states alleged that Meta knowingly exposed children to harm on its platforms.

According to the terms of the settlement, Colorado will receive nearly $615 million over a period of nine years to protect and improve children's mental health and safety. This is a significant step towards ensuring the well-being of young users on social media.

Attorney General Phil Weiser, along with other state representatives, played a crucial role in standing up for children's rights and holding technology companies accountable for their actions.
