City of Bloomington Utilities Partners with Oncourse Home Solutions to Offer Optional Home Protection Programs
EntSun News/11101322
~ Bloomington, IN- The City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) has recently announced a new partnership with Oncourse Home Solutions, an independent third-party provider of home protection programs. This collaboration aims to offer optional service line and plumbing protection plans to residential customers in the area at preferred pricing.
With over 30 years of experience in the utility industry, Oncourse Home Solutions has been providing support to nearly 2 million homeowners nationwide. Their services include 24/7 live support and a network of trusted local contractors, which have saved homeowners over $100 million in repair costs annually.
Many homeowners are unaware that they are responsible for maintaining and repairing the water service line and sewer lateral that connects their property to CBU's mains. These repairs can often cost hundreds to thousands of dollars and are not typically covered by standard homeowners' insurance policies. Through this partnership, CBU customers now have access to optional protection plans for exterior water and sewer service lines, as well as in-home plumbing systems at preferred pricing.

CBU Director Katherine Zaiger stated, "Home maintenance can come with unexpected expenses, and repairs to underground water and sewer service lines can be among the most costly. This partnership gives Bloomington residents an optional and affordable way to prepare for these repairs."
One particular concern for Bloomington residents is tree root intrusion. As a certified Tree City of the World, Bloomington's urban canopy adds charm to the community but can also cause damage to underground infrastructure. Additionally, parts of Bloomington's older sewer infrastructure and private sewer service connections are made of clay piping, which can be prone to cracking and leakage over time.
Oncourse Home Solutions CEO Aaron Cooper expressed his excitement about the partnership with CBU, saying, "Our goal is to protect families from the uncertainties of homeownership. By managing all aspects of repairs, from local permits to deploying skilled technicians, we aim to ease logistical and financial burdens on homeowners. We are committed to providing a transparent safety net that aligns with Bloomington's infrastructure priorities, promotes community affordability, and ensures residents are not left to handle costly service line emergencies alone."

CBU encourages customers to research their options and carefully review plan terms and exclusions to determine if a protection plan is suitable for their individual needs. Participation in these programs is entirely optional and will not affect a customer's utility service. All enrollment, billing, claims processing, and repair coordination will be managed directly by Oncourse Home Solutions.
