Ceta Canyon to Host Ribbon Cutting Celebrating New Camp Safety Initiatives and Honoring Donors

AMARILLO, Texas - EntSun -- Ceta Canyon Camp and Retreat Center will host a Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 11 AM to 1 PM to celebrate the completion of its new Camp Safety Initiatives and Protocols and to recognize the generous donors who helped make them possible.

Over the past year, Ceta Canyon has invested significantly in expanding its commitment to camper, staff, and guest safety. The new initiatives include a comprehensive Emergency Action Plan aligned with the Texas Youth CAMPER Act, the Heaven's 27 Camp Safety Act, and Texas Health and Safety Code § 141.0091. Improvements span emergency preparedness training, updated communication systems, redundant broadband connectivity, weather monitoring equipment, evacuation planning across both the Ceta Canyon and Ceta Glen campuses, and partnerships with local emergency management and transportation providers to ensure rapid response if it is ever needed.

These improvements were made possible through the generosity of donors who believed in the mission of Ceta Canyon and stepped forward to invest in the protection of every camper, staff member, and guest who walks through the gates.

The Ribbon Cutting will include a brief program, a tour of new safety enhancements, a formal ribbon cutting, and lunch at the Welcome Center.
