EntSun News/11088539
Founded in 1985, the DownBeat-recognized collective honors deceased members ahead of the April 24 release of their unheard album, "More Than Words Can Say."
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - EntSun -- New York Axium, the prominent Brooklyn-based jazz fusion group formed in 1985, announces the global release of their new music video, "Too Small." The project utilizes AI animation to reunite the founding lineup following the passing of three beloved members.
Produced by Alexis Layne and Darryl Chalmers, the video is a "living legacy" tribute. It features the likenesses of deceased founding members Ronnie Richardson (Bass), Mark Gatz (Saxophone), and Ron Connor (Keyboards) alongside surviving founders Darryl Chalmers (Drums), Greg Sam (Guitar), and Hal Cohen (Keyboards).
The visual journey, set against a stylized New York City skyline, marks the first step in a major 2026 rollout. New York Axium will release their highly anticipated album, "More Than Words Can Say," featuring previously unreleased music from their private archives, on all major streaming platforms on April 24, 2026.

New York Axium (formerly Axiom) rose to prominence on the New York circuit, placing second in the national Willie Nelson/Wrangler Music Invitational and earning a feature in DownBeat Magazine for the year's best amateur jazz fusion recording. Over the decades, members shared the stage with icons such as Miles Davis, Steve Gadd's GADD Gang, and Cornell Dupree, with bassist Ronnie Richardson serving as musical director for Phyllis Hyman.
The release of "Too Small" kicks off Jazz Appreciation Month, leading up to the full album drop on April 24.
