Brooklyn Digital Literacy Company Expands Nationally After School District Adopts Its Curriculum

BAM Digital Media's multi-year curriculum agreement brings practical instruction on AI, algorithms, misinformation, online privacy, and digital responsibility to students in Washington State
BROOKLYN, N.Y. - EntSun -- BAM Digital Media Expands Nationally Through Washington State Curriculum Licensing Agreement
BAM Digital Media LLC, a Brooklyn-based digital literacy education company, has expanded its work nationally through a multi-year curriculum licensing agreement with a public school district in Washington State.
The district licensed BAM Digital Media's proprietary digital literacy curriculum for high school students in grades 10–12. The curriculum addresses digital issues that increasingly shape students' academic experiences, relationships, and future careers.
Lessons cover artificial intelligence, algorithms and personalized feeds, misinformation, digital footprints, online privacy, cybersecurity, digital wellness, responsible technology use, and college and career readiness. Teacher guides, student materials, assessments, and implementation support are included to help educators bring these topics into the classroom.
"Students spend a significant part of their lives in digital spaces, but many do not fully understand how those spaces influence what they see, believe, and share," said Schnelle Acevedo, founder of BAM Digital Media. "I created this curriculum to help students become more thoughtful about their technology use and more confident when making decisions online. Seeing a public school district invest in this work for the long term is an important milestone for BAM Digital Media."

Acevedo developed the curriculum after more than 15 years as a digital publisher and content creator. Her experiences as a digital literacy educator and mother of three also shaped its practical approach. Classroom activities connect digital concepts to situations students encounter through social media, group chats, online searches, AI tools, gaming platforms, and school assignments.
Students examine how technology can influence attention, communication, identity, safety, and decision-making. They learn how personalized feeds are created, how digital content may manipulate emotions, how to evaluate online sources, and how to protect personal information. The curriculum also encourages students to consider how their online choices may affect educational and professional opportunities.
The Washington adoption marks an important stage in BAM Digital Media's growth from a Brooklyn education business into a national curriculum provider. The company works with schools, families, educators, and community organizations through curriculum licensing, student workshops, family engagement programs, teacher professional development, and multi-week digital media programs.
BAM Digital Media is certified as a Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise in New York City and New York State.
"This agreement shows that digital literacy deserves a meaningful place in school instruction," Acevedo said. "School districts need practical resources that address the digital decisions students make every day. BAM Digital Media gives educators a structured way to begin these conversations and build useful skills."
