Boston Parks to Host Winter Ultimate Disc Clinics
EntSun News/11079901
~ Boston Parks and Recreation Department has announced a new partnership with the Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance (BUDA) to offer free co-ed youth Ultimate disc clinics this winter. The clinics will take place at the Carter Playground Bubble, located at 709 Columbus Avenue.
The program, which will run on Sundays from January 4th to January 25th, is open to kids in grades 3 to 12 regardless of their previous experience. The sessions will be divided into two groups: grades 3-8 from 8:00-8:50 a.m. and grades 9-12 from 8:55-9:50 a.m.
The main goal of this program is to help players develop their basic skills so they can play a safe, fun, and fair self-officiated game of Ultimate. This non-contact team sport involves throwing a disc by hand and scoring points by passing it to a teammate in the opposing end zone. It is played all over the world in various settings such as pickup games, recreational leagues, school teams, and professional teams.
