Boston: Cummins Highway Construction Update: July 2025

~ As construction continues on the streets of downtown Providence, residents and commuters can expect to see some changes in the coming weeks. According to a recent press release, the primary construction activities for the next few weeks will take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

From July 7th to July 11th, crews will be focusing on forming and installing sidewalks from Hebron Street to Livermore Street. Additionally, they will be installing curb and pedestrian ramps around the Greenfield/Weybosset area, as well as placing recessed planter soil between Wood Avenue and Weybosset Street.

The following week, from July 14th to July 18th, work will continue with the installation of curb from Hebron Street to Livermore Street. Crews will also be working on curb and pedestrian ramps around the Weybosset Corner towards Livermore Street, as well as installing rotary island curb and concrete.

Finally, from July 21st to July 25th, crews will focus on forming and installing sidewalks from Livermore Street to Weybosset Street. They will also be installing curb along this stretch of road and finishing up work on the rotary island curb and concrete.

Residents are advised to plan their routes accordingly during these times as there may be temporary road closures or detours in place. The city thanks everyone for their patience during this necessary construction process.
