April is Valley Bike Month in Mesa

- Thursday, April 2 ~ As Valley Bike Month approaches, the City of Mesa's MesaMoves Program is gearing up to celebrate with a series of free events aimed at promoting safe cycling and active transportation for residents of all ages.
On Thursday, April 2, MesaMoves will be hosting a Smart Cycling FUN-damentals class. This beginner-friendly class is perfect for new riders or those looking to get back into cycling. Participants will learn important skills such as how to plan rides, prepare their bicycles, and navigate city streets safely. Those interested can register online.
The following week on Wednesday, April 10, MesaMoves will be at the Downtown Mesa Association's Sunset Market on Macdonald Avenue and Main Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will be providing free helmets for all ages while supplies last.

Bike-to-Work Day will take place on Tuesday, April 15 with a community ride departing from Lehi Park at 7 a.m. The ride will end at the Plaza at Mesa City Center where participants can enjoy breakfast, refreshments, and free T-shirts while supplies last. Riders are reminded to bring their own bicycles and helmets and can register online.
For those who missed the first Smart Cycling FUN-damentals class, there will be a repeat session on Tuesday, April 29. This is another opportunity for individuals to learn essential cycling skills and safety tips by registering online.
MesaMoves is dedicated to promoting safety education and encouraging active transportation choices in Mesa through well-connected routes. The program is developed and operated by the Transportation Department along with dedicated outreach volunteers who offer a variety of free community events, safety classes, educational kits, bike maps, and helmets.
