American University of Antigua Appoints New Provost and Interim Dean of Preclinical Sciences

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua & Barbuda - EntSun -- American University of Antigua proudly announces the appointment of Dr. David Graham as Provost, effective April 1, 2025. Dr. Graham brings a distinguished career in academic medicine with leadership experience across Canada, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates. His work spans world-renowned institutions including Johns Hopkins University, McMaster University, Louisiana State University, Florida International University, Khalifa University College of Medicine, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel

Dr. Graham has served as Executive Dean of Preclinical Sciences at AUA College of Medicine for the past three years. A dual-trained academic physician in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Radiology, he introduced ultrasound simulation to AUA's curriculum and spearheaded initiatives that led to significantly improved USMLE Step 1 pass rates—a key milestone in U.S. medical licensure.

In his new position, Dr. Graham will oversee all academic affairs at AUA, including the College of Arts and Sciences (AUACAS). His focus will be on expanding academic programs, promoting innovation in teaching and learning, and supporting student achievement across disciplines.

As a result of Dr. Graham's promotion, Dr. Ricardo Hood, Chair of Clinical Medicine and a licensed U.S. physician, has been appointed Interim Dean of Preclinical Sciences at AUACOM. Dr. Hood brings decades of experience as an educator and clinician and will lead the preclinical program during an ongoing international search for a permanent dean.
